Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

  • Popular Post

Today I had an unexpected and surprisingly satisfying NSV. I noticed that my belly button shrank. It's about 50% shallower than it used to be! Who knew I would be so pleased about less depth to my belly button? ?

Idk about weird but it was surprising when the towel fit around me again without a gap.

    1. Who moved my car seat back? Oh, nobody. My butt is smaller and I'm sitting further back. 2. What? Do gold necklaces stretch? Oh, no. My neck just got smaller and now the chain looks long

Yep, another stomach sleeper pre-op here and I had to learn to sleep on my side. I still don't like it!

Do not know how to explain this I am a side sleeper fetal position like. My knees can now touch each other feels thin and bony they are rubbing together and it annoys be. When larger I did not feel this ?

I was a side sleeper for years until I got a piercing high up on my ear so I switched to being a back sleeper. Suddenly since surgery, my body wants to sleep on the side and my knees are getting bonier. My body must secretly love pain

When I got my top ear piercing, I specifically got it on the side I don’t sleep on as much, for just this reason.

Ohh, I've been contemplating getting a helix piercing... Glad you mentioned this!

I'm glad I got, but it was tener for a few weeks. After that, I just got used to sleeping on my back. It became a habit.

Check out my butt in this plane seat! There's some chair left over! About an inch. I'm counting it as a win

I don’t know about weird, but definitely a win for me. I grew a little a booty!! My booty was such a signature one back in the day LMAO, it went completely flat after VSG.

I have been hitting legs HEAVY twice to three times a week and man do I feel the difference. My weight is pretty much the same (although my running average has gone down a bit to the lower end of my stabilized weight). But I am 100% sure my body fat has significantly dropped and muscle mass has gone up (wishful thinking, indulge me).

Down 143lbs since my RnY in Sept '23, all of my fitted baseball hats are too big and I've had to tighten the back straps on all of the others. That's not something I ever expected.

Me again. My ex- and still incredibly close friend and I went out this past Saturday, going a Costco run before she cancelled her membership, then we hit up a thrift store. There, already now wearing a 36" waist pants, down from 50" when I started on this road, I tried on a random blazer that caught my eye. It fit like it was custom tailored right down to the length of the sleeves. Checking the labels inside I literally laughed out loud seeing it was a 46R.

Not in my wildest dreams did I ever see myself in anything that 'small'. Added bonus? It was $12 and looks like it was never worn.

Weird as it may sound but I can SEE and feel my collarbone ???. I can also feel my hip/pelvis pelvis bone! I'm seeing and feeling bones I never felt! ??

Loving all of these NSV. We covered this topic at my in person support group the other night and I mentioned how many amazing ones I have heard on this thread and that I think it’s a great place for people that are nervous about surgery to hear about the pros of the surgery and I noticed one lady wrote down the site that is pre surgery. It’s one thing to say I lost 30 pounds or even 150 or more but to talk about that real life changes is so much more powerful. These surgeries are so life changing.

This is probably the weirdest one yet. But I'm certain it's because of my weight loss.

In my dreams, I've never been able to run. I always go faster by doing like a wheelbarrow type walk on my hands. But yesterday, I was dreaming and I was full on running. I think it's a mental thing to show I'm finally free of the weight and the expectations.

But in actual physical milestones, I'm on the 5th hole in my watchband instead of the third when I had the surgery, and the 4th about 2 months ago.

I have another one. I live in North London, UK. The North Alps some call it as there is a lot of hills. Some incredibly steep. Well, I cycled up one of these hills today. 6 months ago, I could only go halfway and had to stop. 7% gradient average, about 265ft. And I did it! I know it's an ebike and that might be "cheating" but I still couldn't do this 6 months ago.

We went to visit friends this weekend in CO and I went snow shoeing for the first time! I don’t know that I could have done it at my starting weight. My legs are still sore cause you have to walk differently than you do normally, but we went over 3 miles and it was so much fun!
