that's one of the main reasons I've stayed active on bariatric sites. It keeps my head in the game.

this really irritates the hell out of me. What a huge waste of money for them to have the surgery. Plus when I hear about cases like, this I worry that some insurance policies are going to stop cove

we get some real doozies on here once in awhile. We haven't had one in awhile, but if you stick around long enough, one will eventually show up.

yea - it was awhile ago. They went over to Obesity Help for awhile, but they left after a few months over there.

None here but left the bariatric pal facebook group as it was full of toxic people who loved to enable each other eating like crap and call anyone who said differently the "food police" while inevitably they would post a few months later whining about stalls or regain. People were cheering people on eating cake at a few weeks post op because "it's a soft food". There were posts like that constantly. Maybe it's changed since I left but that's not a great support group for making better food choices.

this really irritates the hell out of me. What a huge waste of money for them to have the surgery. Plus when I hear about cases like, this I worry that some insurance policies are going to stop covering it because too many people are unsuccessful because they don't follow the rules. It'll end up screwing those of us who are serious about it up, too, if that happens...

i guess i have not pissed any one off that i know of lol

this should be for support on our journey my way may not work for you but it might help someone else

i have not blocked any one so far

I've never really thought about ignoring anyone. If necessary, I just scroll on by...

I usually agree with you but this rubs me the wrongest way possible.

Nobody polices patients who've had coronary bypass surgery or angioplasty if they take their statins, engage in moderate exercise and really have stopped smoking. Nobody polices diabetes patients if they changed their eating habits and threatens to stop covering insulin treatment if they don't.

I remember Lipstick...... she hated me .... good riddance b*tches..... I think she may have gotten kicked off that one too.
I do miss my friend Dub. I do still talk to a lot of people that dont come her anymore. Most all have gained all their weight back. Two that were my inspirations.....

I guess I should have said too many people fail because they revert to their former eating habits.

Yesssss.... me too. Plus you're never to old to learn.... Lots of people that are on my friend's list here don't come. but i have a lot of them on my fb page.

I think this is still some kind of slippery slope.

When we're talking about "eating habits" or "lifestyle habits" that were bad enough (bad in the sense of severe) to cause a weight so high the patient needed WLS we're IMO are no longer talking about "habits" but about addiction, eating disorders or at least severely disordered eating.

Referring to all of these issues as "habits" doesn't IMO cater to the severity of the disease of morbid obesity.

This is just my opinion of course but I think we don't do ourselves a favor by diminishing or belittling our issues by referring to them as "habits". Let's call these issues and behaviors that come with them by their names: Eating disorders. Disordered eating. Addictive behavior.

And once we start talking about eating disorders and addictions we can take a look at other eating disorders and addictions and long term treatment success. WLS patients seem to do fairly well in comparison.
