Pre op liquid diet headaches

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I'm on my three week pre op diet right now, about a week into it and the headaches are constant. Its not overly painful , they just never let me forget that they're there.

Any tips on how to deal with this? Tylenol is not helping the situation whatsoever.

Really can't wait for these next few weeks to be behind me

I am having headaches too, but from no caffeine. I should have been better prepared.

I just started my liquid diet and am feeling the same way. I'm exhausted, foggy, and have the worst headache that won't go away.

Salt is definitely needed at this point. I used the broth of progresso Soups and it helped to relieve the headache almost immediately.

Terrible headaches doing pre-op diet. I noticed before pre-op that I’d get headaches from hunger (or at least that eating would make it go away). For the people on this thread, did they go away after surgery?

Before surgery I used to get headaches at least 1 or more times every week. During preop I had a massive headache and found that I had an electrolyte imbalance and consuming electrolytes helped to relieve that headache. After surgery which has been almost 5 months, I have only had a handful of headaches. This is just what I have found, so I have to wonder if all of my headaches were caused by not having enough electrolytes and my body showing me that through headaches.

Mine have gone away since having surgery. Probably because my body finally adjusted to the diet.

After a few days of sticking to the liquid diet my headaches went away. it's only when I slipped up and had carbs did the headaches return. No headaches since surgery

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
