Has anyone heard of this? Cool sculpting? I am considering this instead of cosmetic surgery aka Tummy Tuck, etc. It is a procedure where you just lie there, they put something on your belly, and it freezes the fat. The area treated never grows fat again? Has anyone had this done? If so, what were the results, and how long post op where you?

I've heard of it, but I had so much loose skin that I knew traditional plastic surgery was the way to go for me. Not sure how cool sculpting works if you have minimal loose skin.

Did you have skin removal surgery?

yes - I had a lower body lift in August 2018 and an arm lift and breast lift in March 2019. With the latter, he also came down further than usual on his "side boob" incisions (he brought them down to my waist) to get rid of some more of the loose skin that he couldn't get to on my lower body lift (on my back, sides, and up under my ribs on the front).

It's crazy expensive "per area" and requires multiple treatments "per area." I'm skeptical that something could be that easy or else everybody would be doing it. But that's just no two cents worth of opinion.

I’m with gradycat. If it were that permanent and easy everyone would do that instead of surgery.
Like she said it’s just my opinion. Look up reviews on it. I personally went the surgical route and am very happy w that. I wish you success with which ever route you choose to take

Sounds extremely expensive. I was told that any cosmetic surgery was not covered by insurance?

Yah, your right. I was quoted $3k for each treatment. It would include 3 "areas" which are middle belly, and both sides. That is what you count as areas. OMG!! Then you have to have multiple sessions. Ok so that idea is gone. LOL

yes - it's expensive. Some policies will cover it if you have some medical issue because of it that won't resolve by using traditional methods. For example, chronic rashes that don't respond to conventional treatment. So if yours does cover it for medical issues, make sure you see a doctor and make sure they're keeping good records of their attempts to treat it, since you may need a paper trail. My insurance wouldn't cover it, though - I don't think they cover it all, even if there are medical issues - but on top of that, I never had any medical issues because of it, so it wouldn't have mattered either way.

I’ve done cool sculpting and yes it does work but it’s Extremely expensive each time and you need several treatments on the same are to see results. Also the nurses “forget” to mention how extremely painful it is and pain killers don’t help. The freezing part actually kills your nerve endings and when the nerves grow back it’s very painful for up to 3 months. I dont recommend cool sculpting.

Sorry, It does absolutely nothing for loose skin and is very expensive for the results you can expect.

Oh yeah of course they did not tell me that part.

if you have to keep going back, it sounds like it's going to end up costing as much as traditional plastic surgery. I'd just go with the tried and true, personally.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
