Too old for plastics?

Recommended Posts

38 isn't old at all, definitely not too old for surgery. I am almost 58 and am contemplating it.

So I just has bypass on 10/20. I can already tell I'll need plastics (especially tummy and breast lift). I'm just concerned that I'm too old at 38. I guess I'm kind of feeling like I'm not young anymore, so why bother.

Old at 38? Seriously? I had my WLS at age 53. I still might consider plastics at some point. It's never too late to feel good about yourself.

I’m 38 and it’s definitely going to be on my calendar. I just had my surgery last month, and my birthday is in May so I’m
Thinking year and half out would be darn close to my 40th b-day and I’m pretty sure I know what I want!!

Age is just a number. I’m 49 and feel (and act) like I’m 17. 😂

I had mine done last year and feel fab.

Of course, if you feel its not for you, then it’s not for you. But if the only thing that is holding you back is the number of years under your belt (and NOT health issues nor finances), then my insignificant suggestion is to go for it...plastics is a game changer.

Good Luck!

I had 'em at 59. I'm still contemplated a face lift, and I'm now in my 60s. 38 is young!

Humph. I'm 56 and I'm pretty sure plastic surgery is in my future, LOL. You are by no means too old.

38? You haven't even lived half your life yet! Even though you look saggy now, wait at least 6 months after surgery for plastics, IMHO. Skin actually does start to tighten up on its own. I was 62 when I had surgery and even with a lot less elasticity and collagen than you, my skin has tightened considerably. Waiting also gives your mind a chance to catch up with your body.

I got the surgery at 48 and saved up some money to do it but decided I didn't feel like I needed to. If I was single it might have been different. My husband really didn't want me to and it doesn't bother me enough for me to want to have more surgery. But if you want it, I think everyone who can should go for it, no matter your age. YOLO

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
