Surgery is on Dec. 15, really getting nervous now.....Going out on the weekend has always been my wife's and I big social event. Meeting up with friends and having a multi-hour eat and drink fest ... Things are gonna be changing around here, unsure as how to resolve all of it at the moment..

As I mentioned before my date is the 14th. How is everyone else around that time doing with their pre-op diet? I’ve been doing great from the aspect of getting my 3 Protein Shakes in a day with the option of a 4th. Don’t usually do it cause the vanilla is so freakin nasty. Plus I can eat up to 4 servings of veggies a day. But man the whey Protein and salad are not great on my stomach. I find that I am hungry but can resist all the food even though there are five kids whom my wife has to cook for and she is a good cook as noted by my waste line. I feel less hungry pains but more mental. In my head I think, I am hungry and I just want to get something to eat so I’m not. I’m not really tempted to eat the food, I just miss eating an actual meal or actual food.

I also finished up all my tests today. Covid EKG and blood work. So when everything come back good I’ll be set for the 5 days from now.

Nothing guaranteed until we hear from my insurance, which was submitted yesterday. I might not know for up to 7-10 business days. So with that in mind, I’m starting my liquid diet on the 14th (Monday) in case I’m having surgery as soon as the 28th (it might be the 30th)!

My surgery date is December 28th.... My surgeon had me start the preop diet on December 5th. He put me on a 3 Protein Shake diet a day..... Water between each shake... no other food. It was tough the first 3 days... but Im on day 5... and cant believe Ive gone that long with no "food" . My preop will be a little over 3 weeks whereas everyone else Im seeing only has a 2 week.

I had my revision surgery yesterday morning (sleeve to bypass). I feel great when I’m not moving. Going from a seated position to standing (and vice versa) is painful. I at my first solid food today- salmon mushed up with a fork. So far so good.

I’m on day 7 now. I know I can do it and I’d be able to do the three weeks of I needed. But I fell asleep on my bed this afternoon and went downstairs when I woke up. The kids had left some goldfish out and being hungry I almost mindlessly picked them up to eat them. Would have been so pissed if I had.

The pre op diet is so hard! My surgeon has us use his products (which is dumb IMO) but nonetheless. Some of it isn’t horrible, and gives you something to chew. Albeit, chewing for thirty minutes on one bite of rubber but ya know. 🤣🤣.

Otherwise it’s just been Protein shakes/popsicles/SF Jello.

I would even be ok with popsicles and SF Jello... but my surgeon stated nothing but 3 Protein Shakes and Water in between for me.

I had gastric bypass surgery dec 7. Was discharged from hospital and on the way home started vomiting blood. I was then rushed back to the ER for them to find a pretty large blood clot in my intestines. Dr did a endoscopy and pulled the clot out. Now I feel 100x better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
