Recommended Posts

What are you consuming at the moment? Did your surgeon or dietician provide you with a post op food plan/timelines? Do you have a post op program with follow ups with them?

I had my sleeve 3 weeks ago but I don’t feel well , I have no energy . Did anyone experience that? Also what can I eat now

you will probably feel tired because after surgery we are in a calorie deficit and calories give us energy. As far as purees go i got a magic bullet blender )nutribullet be fine too) and u just make a simple egg salad (egg n mayo) or chicken salad (chicken mayo) and put it in there and blend it til mush. I thought about trying normal things like vienna sausage but hadnt got around to it before I was moved to soft foods. you might also be able to use one of those online sites to check your blood for Vitamin deficiencies. There is a forum somewhere here for people who went to mexico that may have some tips too

Omg thank you @tarotcardreader and I can do that egg salad or chicken salad at 3 weeks ? I will try that tomorrow. I have an appointment for a Vitamin iv infusion . I hope that works . Thank you so much

Hi! Thats what you can do during the puree phase of your diet. What diet phase are you in? I might have one of those infusions myself lol let me know how it went 🌝

Here are my instructions...although post-op instructions vary widely, this will give you an idea of what you can eat:

most of us are on pureed food by then. I couldn't stomach the idea of eating baby food (although that was an option for us), but you can puree a variety of things. Check the blog "The World According to Eggface" for ideas. She's a long-time vet and loves cooking. She has a lot of recipes on her site for all stages.

I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and I'm feeling the same with energy levels. I think it's the lack of calories? So I'm forcing myself to eat the SF-jello and puddings for calories. My main meals are protein-based: pureed chicken, fish, hard-boiled eggs, Soups, broths. I'm almost starting to think this is normal right now.

I was pretty tired for the first month - maybe two. I think it's a combination of the surgery (any surgery can zap you for awhile) and, as you said, the low calorie intake.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
