Are you all ready for the big day tomorrow? @SassyTigris @VickieRenee @Neller @caitmarie @Giveitmyall @2xacharm

I just packed my bag. Talked with my mum and dad on the phone. Kids are in bed, I am relaxing and soon going to bed.

Will be picked up at 08:30 tomorrow. Bloodwork first, and then at 10 am I am in for my surgery. (But might be some delayes tomorrow, so not sure when I will be in exactly)

How are you all preparing for tomorrow?

I am packed, Jewellery off, and family contacted. We did all the bloodwork the week before last. I just check in at 11 with Surgery at 1pm. I have been "nesting" for the last 3 weeks so I have a very clean house and have set up some light Christmas projects to do shortly after the surgery. My husband will be working from home so I'm good with that. My 19 year old daughter (my youngest ) took next week off to come and keep me company.

I Work with handicapped adults and am off for 6 weeks but I have asked to still do all the administrative work, like monthly financials and such. They will call all the time so I'll feel connected.

I'm from the Saskatoon area of Saskatchewan in Canada. Tomorrow we have to drive the 3 hours it takes to get to where the surgery will take place, They do the Surgeries on Mondays and we get discharged on Thursdays

as ready as I will ever be and excited beyond belief. I have been on Protein Drinks and clear fluids for the last 2 weeks, which was a lot easier than I expected. It was the same when I quit smoking, I got the call to enter the program on a Friday and I quit on Sunday, no issues. I want to know where all this was before I entered the program ...lol

Got my husband to take some before photos of me.

Can't wait to see the progress because these before photos are terrefying. [emoji23]

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for love_thatgirl, but I had a pretty strict preop diet (very low carb, low calorie, no sugars/grain/starchy food) for a few months prior to the liquid diet. I dropped almost 50 lbs on it, and started the full liquid diet on Tuesday. I’ve lost 4 lbs on the liquid diet. So not super fast, but still losing.

My stats: 5’10, HW 339, CW 286.

I’m pretty sure this means I’ll be in the slow losers club post op but I am fine with that. My big goal was to be under 300 before surgery, and then to lose as absolute much weight as I can prior so I can take advantage of my post op time. I have a loooot to lose and I’m worried about stalling out at like 225 or something. I want 2021 to be the year I see 165 on the scale again.

@blackcatsandbaddecisionsthanks for sharing! That is helpful to know. I think it is kind of connected because you made so many changes beforehand and you lost so much weight, (Congratulations by the way,)that you lost at a very slow pace in the liquid diet. That makes sense. I wish you continued success! And have the faith that you will reach your goal 🙂

Good luck, knowledge and intelligence (and best wishes) to all of our surgeons and Medical Teams as we start the process of going into surgery. May we all respond well, heal swiftly and continue to make the best decisions for our health, life and families. 💛🙏🏾

@love_thatgirl no problem! I’ll be honest I have a slight hope i would see “typical” weight loss on the liquid diet, but I was pretty sure I wouldn’t. I’ve lost and gained weight enough over the past decades to know darn well that the initial big weight loss when you start a diet is a one time deal.

Good luck to everyone going into surgery tomorrow! Everyone here is thinking about you, and please come back as soon as you are able to let us know how you are doing!

I think/hope I'm ready. I'm starting to get a little freaked out, not about having surgery, but about how this is permanent change. I'm packed, charging up my devices, and ready to go in the morning. I'm lucky that my surgery is at 09:30, so I won't have to wait too long and ponder too much. LOL. Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

I’m on Nov 14th in Las Vegas at Blossom Bariatrics. I leave for surgery from Atlanta on the 11th.

(Note - the last list I saw to quote was incomplete so just listing mine here.)

Well, I am sure @tropico78 is in for her surgery or in recovery... I hope things go great there! I wasn't able to log on yesterday to say GOOD LUCK to all my fellow November 2nd peeps! Also, I noticed my name is wrong on the list... it is GivinItMyALL like Givin' :) That's why the tag didn't work, I guess.

Very much looking forward to surgery this afternoon, just not looking forward to going from 8am-4pm with no food or Water. I go from half a gallon to a gallon a day down to NOTHING? Gahhh!

I will get a head start and wish @Meredith25, @Chelsealauren09, and @MomwithaMasters good luck tomorrow (in case I am still out of it :D )

I will be dropped off at the hospital, as my hubby couldn't get away from work today, but that is okay. I actually like doing this stuff on my own. I just hope they let me keep my phone for a while, so i have something to do while I wait.

Well, I am off to make myself my last meal for a while! Much love to everyone!

Congrats on the cessation of the cigs. My mom is a heavy smoker and always has trouble healing. All the best in your healthy new life!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
