November 2020 sleevers

Recommended Posts

I've been pretty much done with everything and have had my day since September. This waiting has been very long and tedious but I think also helpful. I'm still really nervous but not as much as before. Getting ready to start this liquid diet and I'm not looking forward to it just because of headaches and irritability. I'm already going through that having had to stop some medication before surgery. I'm just counting down for this procedure to be over and for a smooth recovery process. I'm curious what people are planning as far as work. How much time are you all taking off from work? I am working from home so I figure I'll get through the weekend and go back to work that week. I don't know. Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic but I hate taking time off from work and it's actually pretty convenient that I can work from home so....

I'm working from home also and plan to take a week off as well. I've enlisted friends to help make meals for my boys the first week and I'm going to spend next weekend making and freezing a few types of homemade broths for myself.

Had my endoscopy today - it definitely feels real now! 3 weeks (gulp)

That's how I felt after I completed mine last month. I've never had surgery or anesthesia before so getting through that was a big deal. A little peek into the big day.

My doctor isn’t making me have a endoscopy. Why did y’all have to have one? If y’all don’t mind me asking? Was it required by insurance?

I was told that is for the doc to take a look at my stomach specifically for ulcers, hernias or anything else that will need to be repaired or would have perhaps delayed my surgery.

Generally you see if you have a hiatal hernia and check for gastritis. If you have either, a sleeve could make things worse and they’d generally opt for a bypass.

I don't have to have one either and my surgery is on the 11th of November.

Had my pre-op visit today and finally got the dreaded pre-op diet. A Protein Shake for Breakfast, another for lunch, and for dinner, 3-4 oz of Protein and a cup of steamed vegetables. I'm starving already. I can also have 1-2 cups of broth and all the Water I want, as long as it's at least 64 oz. On the drive home, I was thinking I could maybe stop and pick up one last hamburger or some Mexican food, but since this is a food change I'm going to have to do for life, I figured I'd better get on with it. 13 days to surgery. I'll be glad to get it over with, because then at least I won't feel hungry.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
