Weclome to the forum.

Hmm, "Positive advice" is not usually my thing... let me think.

Nervous but excited is pretty normal. Focus on the excited part.

I started a journal because it 1) allowing me to put the thoughts I wrote out of my mind; 2) I apparently have a rotten memory on some things; and 3) documenting your progress and changes. Oh, and 4) It's a distraction.

You know you could d... Carp, never mind... staying positive.

Distract yourself by doing stuff you enjoy in which you can immerse yourself.

Part of my journal was 50 things I want to do post-op. Then cross them off as you accomplish them. It was fun.

I've got load of 'negetive' and stern stuff. You're really missing out.

Set small goals for yourself. We all decide what our ultimate goal is in terms of weight loss, but it is very important to also set smaller goals along that road for yourself. Kind of like taking a long road trip somewhere. You break up the trip with stops along the way to do something fun. In this case, the something fun is celebrating your accomplishment for reaching those little goals so that you're not just staring at a finish line that is far away. Revel in the successes you achieve along the way.

Also, as you lose weight, challenge yourself to do something that you weren't able to do before. At nearly 350 pounds, I was not going to try running a 5k at any point in time. Now that I am where I am, I am in the process of improving my stamina and getting more comfortable with jogging and running so that I might actually do a 5k race once this pandemic is under control.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
