Weight lost question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new here. I've had a sleeve 2 weeks ago today. I've had a lapband for 8 years prior my surgery. Actually my lapband has been removed at the same time as doing the sleeve surgery.

Everything has been going great. I can drink, eat without any discomfort or pain ( I am starting to eat more consistent now) and I've been eating about 1/2 cup per lunch.< /p>

Here's the thing. I lost one 1 pound in 7 days. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I try to eat my Proteins first and after vegetables. I drink Mio Water as water itself makes me nauseous.

Is this normal? Any recommendations? I would appreciate it. Here in Canada, Montreal, the post-op follow-ups are terrible, so I hope to get some answers.

Have a great weekend!

Your weight loss depends on a lot of factors including your pre-op weight. The less you have to lose the slower the weight will come off. Also, you had a revision and revisions tend to lose slower. That doesn't mean it's not going to come off, it'll just likely come off a lot slower than you would like. Also, you may still have some Fluid from your surgery. From my own experience it took about 10 days to get rid of that fluid so give yourself a few more days and I'm sure you'll drop a few more pounds.

Congrats on your new surgery and I wish you the best!

a lot of people leave the hospital heavier than when they went in. Some up to 10 lbs heavier. It's the IV Fluid. Like the above poster said, it takes a few days for it to work its way out of your system - but then you'll be on your way!

Hello fellow Canadian!

Like the posters said above, there are alot of factors that determine weight loss. What is your weight? How tall are you? Are you counting your calories...do you know how many calories you are taking in daily?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
