December Exercise

Recommended Posts

50 min elliptical trainer, 60 minutes legs and abs. Went really well without trainer. I followed her program, plus added some more. I just hope I can keep it up.....

Alynne, I can't believe they took over a foot of stomach!!!!! OMG. You're results will be remarkable, I can't wait until you get to see. Be patient for now, and get your rest, and FOLLOW YOUR DOCS ORDERS!!!!!!

Good luck!

Oh boy.

No workout Thursday, Friday, Saturday or today. Gym is closed tomorrow and the next day, of course. Gotta get on my bike and get out the dumbells soon.

Okay, we all know that "soon" never comes. I'm putting on my cold weather bike clothes and going for a ride right this second while I am thinking about it.

Put me down for an hour! ;)

jm-I had to have a dressing change around my drains early this morning, so I got a sneak peak at the results. I'm still very swollen, but what I can see is going to be great. It seemed really strange not seeing my big pannus or "apron", just a flat stomach. I can hardly wait for all the swelling to go down and all the healing to take place. I'm looking forward to shopping for some new clothes.

I never thought that I would say this but I miss the gym and can't wait to get back and lose the last few pounds as well as maintain my weightloss for the rest of my life. Take care everyone!

By the way, I did go for that ride, and it was invigorating! The tights work great...my legs were not a bit cold! I also wore Under Armor technical tee and hoodie, so wasn't cold there, either. My toes and ears were frozen, however, so I need an Under Armor headband for my ears and a set of Toesties to go over my bike shoes.

Other than that, the ride was fantastic! It was dark, and the light worked great. I rode the concrete path around the lake in my neighborhood and then all over the neighborhood for a good hour. Not a training ride (60+ miles)...but a different, good ride. I must do that again tomorrow and Christmas!

You ROCK Stefanie, most people would have just forgotten about working out just because the gym was closed.....I need to follow in your footsteps tomorrow!!!!

Well, JM...I didn't do as well today! Things were so crazy that I didn't get my ride in, so I need to do it tomorrow for sure! You, too! Do something, anything...you will be glad you did!

I'm so excited, too! Hubby gave me a complete trainer system for my bike tonight! I can't wait to get it set up so I can ride my road bike at home when it's icky or too cold outside!

Or anytime, really! What a great solution to insomnia, huh? wink.gif

Thank you! I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

I did get that ride in yesterday! About an hour and a half. Today I am taking my tree down and getting my front room cleaned back up from the holiday mess. Then I will set up my bike trainer in there! I can't wait to try it out!

Just got back from my first Post-Op visit with my Surgeon. He took off the dressing on the incision in back, milked the drain tubes and put a new dressing around the drains. He said that everything looked great and to keep walking every 2 hours and rest between. I need to get 110 grams of Protein per day minimum during this healing process. I go back on Jan. 2nd for possible removal of the 2 drains. I was worried about the amount of swelling that I have, but he said everyone is different and that it wasn't abnormal, that gave me some peace of mind and I felt so much better. He showed me pictures of my surgery that he'd taken during the operation, pretty graphic with my backside filleted open(spelling). I just can't wait to see the end results.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and will be having a Happy New Year!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
