I had my surgery on Monday the 19th with a hernia repair. The surgery was a little over two hours with the repair and scar tissue issue I had. Lots of gas pain first night in the hospital along with some vomitting. I spent one night in the hospital. I walked alot to ease up on the gas. Drink but small sips. Jello and Crystal Light never tasted better.
any question, lmk!

Good Luck!

Mine is on Wednesday 10/21. Pre-op diet has made me feel sick most of the time & made gerd feelings worse. I have fallen off of it a little a few times but I’ve lost almost 20lbs in 12 days. I’m scared my liver won’t be shrunk enough. Also, Tuesday I have to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate. Hopefully that won’t make me puke. I’m extremely nervous and can’t sleep. Stomach aches all the time. I’m constantly hungry. Questioning a lot right now. I do love this group and I thank you for sharing your stories.

Hope all went well!

I had a gastric bypass and hiatal hernia repair at the same time on October 12th. It’s been a rough week and a half. I struggled with gas pains at first. Had about 2 good days-days 5 & 6. Then have had persistent nausea since. My doctor diagnosed me with thrush and has called in some medicine for nausea and an antibiotic for thrush. Apparently you can get thrush as a surgery side effect. Praying this helps with the nausea.

Hi! Had my surgery on Monday. Stayed an extra night in the hospital due to nausea. Pain is ok. It’s hard to get comfortable at night and have some nasty shoulder pain when I burp. One thing I found that has been a life saver is Tylenol dissolve packs. They taste yummy and dissolve right on your tongue!

Today is the final day of stage 2 liquids/protein shakes. I finally can have 2 full premier Proteins. Miso Soup broth also saved me I’d suggest that over chicken broth. sugar free popsicles for the win

I start stage 3A tomorrow. I’m excited to make some egg bites. This stage only last 10 days and then the stage I been waiting for starts nov 2 ! Looking forward to the infamous ricotta bake

Tomorrow! And I’m freaking out! The pre op cleanse is the worse. But it did take a lot of my focus away from the actual surgery. For a good 8 hrs!

Praying for a speedy recovery! Sorry you are going through the extra pain! I had the same surgery on the 12th.....it gets better but the pain in my shoulder won’t go away!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
