Feeling discouraged

Recommended Posts

First appointment was 12/04/2019, thought I would have been having surgery by now. Does it normally take this long to get through the process?

I assume you had a number of appointments (including nutitional and medical clearances) over a number of months you had to meet? If you have met those conditions already, I am guessing any delays are due to covid.

Have you followed up with the surgeon and / or your insurance company?

Yes. Gone to all appts. Some delays are due to COVID. Lots of appts have been rescheduled numerous times. It’s just the longer this is taking the less sure I am of it actually happening. Part of my issue is that I had an appointment today and I gained some weight. Not a ton, and I am aware of what I did. Now I have to fix that. My drs didn’t say anything about it, but I know what I need to do. Just worried that this might set me back, and this time it’s my fault.

Hi Jen sorry to hear you are feeling down but today is a new day! Yes covid is definitely complicating the process but there are some advatages like telehealth appointments 🥴 telehealth support group etc. focus on the positive in that youve gotten some things out of the way and have additional days to lose that few pounds 🍀

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
