Loving life, feeling amazing, 9 months post op check in :)

Recommended Posts

Well guys this is my monthly check in or check up.

i hope I'm able to offer some inspiration to those who are yet to have surgery or still deciding.

But I have got to say this roux en Y gastric bypass operation has saved my life!!!

It's officially 9 months since I had my surgery here in Australia and it has been amazing, a breeze, no issues at all and lost weight consistently every month.

I've been in maintenance now 3 months pretty much with my weight sitting on average 165lbs but I've also seen 163,164 and 165.

i still weigh myself most days; it's a habit.

i don't worry about logging my food but I do keep a mental note of my intake calories; I still use shakes most days as some days I'm not hungry but others day I am really hungry...

I can eat mostly anything without any major issues and my weight has not changed at all which is great.

So 9 months since surgery and 11 months since preop diet.

Feeling amazing; looking great; starting to feel confident finally and my birthday coming very soon.

Had to buy some more clothes once again even though my weight isn't changing I think my body composition is changing like overtime your skin may retract and I think mine is doing it naturally or via gravity either way it's Great.

159lbs lost at my lowest weight but as I said my weight can vary a few lbs from day to day.

I'll be 36 very soon but I look and feel 26 and can't wait to start living life and finding a lovely lady.

My journey is over but I still have to keep focused and make sure I monitor my weight for the long term.

i just want to say it is possible to be successful. It is possible to lose ALL your excess weight and keep it off...

Thank you.

Photos attached :)

Positive feedback appreciated.

No I don't think so. I only do one a month usually but yes you can change your nickname via settings... There's no rule to nicknames lol

That's a different topic and a different room but again there's no rules to what you can talk about this is my monthly check in Vs a story about my full journey... People should feel safe and happy to post what they like.

Thank you.

Aren't you the guy that a few days ago posted SHAMING others about their posts about struggling with their journeys- your "STOP MAKING EXCUSES!!!" thing??? (And it came out that you were really just posting for attention, like today) THAT kind of attitude is what discourages people.

Some people never learn. You should block YOURSELF from all of us with your repetitive stories. Get a girlfriend, live a life now that you're so successful.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
