Helo!

I have been lurking for a few days and wanted to advance to full participant! This Forum seems to be very helpful and encouraging.

I am determined to get in more movement today. Since March 13th, we have been pretty much "at home". I was looking forward to hitting the gym, but alas, that is not to be. So, I did get in a 30-minute walk but I also am thinking about adding sort of online (youtube) exercising to my day. Anyone have any favorites they would like to recommend for a newcomer, beginner to mid-range?

Also, I am trying to update my "stats" (surgery date and weights) on the left side of my profile page, but I cannot figure out how to do that, any suggestions?

Thank you for being here!

Hi and welcome,

I’m relatively new too. Just joined a couple days after my surgery 3/9.

If I remember correctly you put your stats in under your profile under “My surgery” tab towards the bottom. I remember some stuff being laid out very different in a computer vs. your mobile device. Hope that helps. If not, lmk and I’ll do more investigating.

Best of luck ❤️

@Kimberly 20 Hi Kimberly and welcome to the forum! I’m still a newbie too. I was sleeved on 3/3/20. I went onto Amazon and got myself an$25 activity tracker and that’s been helping me get my steps in. I’ve hit 10k steps for several days so that’s exciting for me! As far as exercise I’m gonna check out what @GreenTealael has posted up here. I’ve recently started stretching and incorporating baby weights to help me. Good luck on your journey!! ❤️

I've been a moderate exerciser since surgery (almost five years ago). Since the stay-at-home thing started, I've been walking several evenings a week and recently started doing some of the "popsugar" workouts on youtube. Although there seem to be several really good videos on youtube, actually... (I'm not a newcomer, but I'm 60 years old and have arthritis and osteoporosis, so I can't do anything really hardcore - but there are a lot of options for those of us who are new or want something more gentle or moderate)

@CammyC Thank you! I have been trying to be consistent with my "laps" around the block while the gym is closed. I thought I had some weights around here but I think I will have to order some from Amazon.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
