Thank you. (If that message is for me😊)None of it is “easy”. Mental changing was the hardest part and I’m still a work in progress on that. I do weigh everyday in the morning. Keeps me in check. In July I’ll be two years out. No regrets what so ever.
The first year is what some call the honey moon period. Use it to your advantage. Excersise as soon as you can. I did not do as much excersising as I could have and I think that if I had done that it would have helped the skin not be as loose. I do excersise but I wish looking back I had started as soon as I got the green light to do so. Good luck!! you will be successful!!!

I'm prepared to get responses that tell me I'm out of my mind,

Age is just a number... if you feel WLS will improve your current lifestyle, does it really matter how old one is when they make this decision? If your doc, who is the only persons opinion I would consider says it's OK and and you want to do it.. I say go for it! 😎

Grace, good luck with your surgery. I’m also in the Boston area and had a great experience at Newton-Wellesley.

Grace, From 1 future foxy old lady to another I'm glad to hear your surgery went well.Yes we all do gain a little bit of weight with the procedure.Which is primarily due to the fluids they gave you as well as your organs are swollen from the actual surgery. It will go down overtime. You have to be patient. I'm now 12 days out from my surgery and feeling really good. But I've only dropped 5 lb since surgery date so it gets frustrating. We just need to be patient. Getting the Proteins and Fluid in daily is getting easier and easier and it's Easy to know when my stomach is full. Hunger has not been an issue but I am anxious to sink my teeth into some real food.

Thanks so much for your message. Yes, my daughter had it done a year ago and she said that she went through the same thing.....really slow loss at first.

I know what you mean about sinking your teeth into some real food. I see ads on TV for burgers and such and it's so appealing. I honestly think I could eat something like that but I'm sure not going to try yet :) Off to the yogurt!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
