I wish people would take the time to spell out a word or two rather than NUT and GB, - like that. There are a lot of us new to the website who aren't familiar with all the abbreviations.

    Hello all:
I underwent a gastric sleeve on February 26, 2020. I was told that this type of surgery can cause hair loss. .... but we hear what we want to hear. I'm losing my hair at an alarming rate. Anyone else experiencing this? In addition to that problem, my weight loss is at a crawl. Since February 26 I've lost only 16 pounds.... so now I won't just be fat, - I'll be fat and bald. Any input would be much appreciated.
    Best,
    Grace

I will note the part of the message above which says "For those of you who think you are too old, I'm 73 and did it." Well, I'm 81 and did it
GREAT BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU SANDRA.

My goodness, I would be absolutely thrilled with a 40 pound loss in that timeframe. My loss, in comparison is 18 pounds in the same timeframe and I am taking in 700-800 calories daily.

    Hello there:
What is a minimizer ring? I don't think you should presume that 100-200 calories per day will be a new normal for you. Sounds like this needs looking into and I'm glad you're having a scope done. Is you 58 pound weight loss a combined before and after surgery or only after surgery?
    I wish you well.
    Best,

This has been one of the biggest disappointments of my life.
I had a gastric sleeve performed on February 26. I was exactly 200 pounds on the day of my surgery. Today, almost 8 weeks out I am a measily 14.5 pounds down. BIG DEAL. I suffered miserably! Apart from that I counted on the surgery to help me. I am doing all the work and from what I can see, the surgery is doing nothing.

    @MsMocie:
I don't know where you got the idea that I expected pounds to slide of by magic. I never felt that way. I know that the surgery is just a tool to assist. My tool DOES NOT WORK. I never feel full. I eat only 600-700 calories per day. I exercise. What more can I do?

I didn't say I couldn't do it. I said the surgery (sleeve) wasn't helping me at all.
Thank you all for your input.

IAmGrace got a reaction from Krimsonbutterflies in END OF MY ROPE
I had a gastric sleeve on February 26 and recovery was dreadful. I'm pretty stoic when it comes to pain but I suffered miserably from the surgery. My weight loss has been painfully slow. For several days I've been terribly constipated so night before last I took Milk of Magnesia. Well it took effect last evening and I spent about 45 minutes in the bathroom until I felt that I was finished "going".
I woke up this morning thinking "oh well, my weight will finally be down a pound or two but I cannot trust it because of the diarrhea." WRONG! I was up a pound. I'm ready to bang my head against a wall. It seems to me that the surgery did me absolutely no good. Here I am 7 weeks out from surgery and have lost a measily 14 pounds and that's will next to starvation.
    Very frustrated in Massachusetts.

I just created a lovely dessert that I want to share with you all. Actually, it's so basic you probably have done this yourself.
Blend a frozen banana, one cup of frozen mixed berries, one packet of sugarless vanilla pudding mix one cup of skim milk and two packets of artificial sweetener. I used Splenda. ....just blend it all for 2 minutes. It makes a really nice pudding!
    Enjoy!

I'm 6 weeks post-op with a gastric sleeve. I see people mentioning frozen bananas on here. I froze some today but I don't know how you all use them. In a shake done with a blender?
    Thanks

Thank you for your suggestion. However, the fact is that I eat VERY slowly. Stopping after each bite, chewing incessantly. Other people are done FAR faster than me. It was a habit I learned from Weight Watchers many, many years ago and it has become my way of eating.
