What prompted most people to do the revision surgery?

I had revision due to weight regain. But I think I am an outlier.

If I had to do it again I wouldn't. I have had no weightloss due to the surgery. Just my usual two pounds a month due to dieting.

I had a surgery that isn't done very often.

It was from RNY to a gastric sleeve and SADI.

I think most people who have WLS revision due to weight regain after an RNY have a distal revision.

But I'll let them talk about there surgery, if they are lurking around.

The band didn't perform up to advertised / reported specs. Ended up with some minor issues and struggled to keep the weight off. Revised to Bypass, dropped the rest of my weight and have kept it off for over a year now. Coming up on 2 years post revision in March.

Weight was going back up and band was no longer able to help. It was impossible to find a spot that helped resolve hunger without making my reflux so bad that I was waking up choking on acid.

Dr told me they have a limited lifespan. After a while they cause damage and can lead to oesophageal failure.

Lap band failure/no weight loss. I never found my "sweet spot." I am either hungry all the time or can't swallow Water.

My lap band had slipped and a large hiatal hernia resulted. Rather than to try to reposition the band my surgeon suggested a revision to RNY. I'm glad I took his suggestion--I'm not quite three months out and am already down 36 pounds!

I am considering having a revision now due to weight gain during pregnancy. I didn’t gain back all my weight. 50 lbs out of the 117 I lost but I have been dieting for months and it’s just not coming off.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
