Hi, I feel like I'm having the same issue. I can eat too much imho. I'm 2 wks post vsg. I weigh my food and have found that depending on the density of food or what it is I can eat 5-6oz at a time. Isnt that way too much? I try to stay in the 2-3oz range but this particular meal was ground chix alfredo w mini penne. I hope I havent stretched my pouch. Any others who are surprised with the amount they can eat and not be stuffed or sick?

Your at 2 weeks PO and already eating carbs? Does vsg not need time to heal before introducing meals back in? Is this your dietitian/dr’s plan? I have the sleeve so maybe it’s different. But I’m supposed to be eating Protein now. I just started adding fish, eggs, avocado, soft food stage. Two weeks post op I was on thick liquids still. Are you getting all your protein and Fluid intake in?

Do you mean that you're eating too much or the wrong foods? It's so important that you follow your dietitian's plan for the first 6 months to a year. You need 75-80 g of Protein, 600-800 calories, 64 or more ounces of Water. That's it. You don't need carbs or Fiber or sugars. Keep portions to 1/2 cup even if your stomach could handle more. Don't do it.

This is one of those posts that seem almost impossible to believe, and quite frankly rather hard to comment on without sounding harsh, but here goes. Are you saying that you ate 6oz of probably one of the worst WLS meals on the planet earth, only 2 weeks out of surgery?

How many calories are 6oz of chicken, Pasta and cheese ? 500+/-? If so, I assume that one serving was all you ate for the entire day as it really doesn't matter what size your pouch is, if you are going to fill it with crap.

I say all that only to point out how seriously you have to take this entire process if you really want to be successful. The WLS was just a tool, you now have to master using that tool.

best of luck!

It will pass i am 7 months post op and still to this day have a very hard eating - My Doc said normal just ride it out and keep trying. There is no way i could eat a 5 oz meat or chicken - So i would not panic to much it does get better - As time goes on you will be able to eat a wider variety of foods,

To this day i eat very very small amounts of solid foods and rely on shakes and Soft foods

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
