we are doing the "be our guest" lunch where she gets to meet all the princesses tho!!

OML she is too perfect.

Though you know, the Star Wars franchise IS under the Disney umbrella, so technically Rey is a Disney Princess, lol.

Your niece and this other little girl could hang out and project their utter awesome-ness:

We’re at seaworld today. This morning when we got off the plane, we went to a convenience store called wawa that I know has the fair life power core shakes. I got one of those and some beef Jerky for mid morning. I had a serving of that to hold me over and now it’s time for lunch. I found a restaurant that has a grilled chicken salad. Perfect!

Your post is so timely! I'm also from NJ and will be taking my 6 year old niece to Disney in May, she's also a SW's lover, but very into Elsa and Cinderella. I promised to take her this year and I am looking forward to being able to fit on the plane and on the rides. I just had my sleeve last Monday, so I'm hoping by the end of May I will be able to eat and maintain hydration. Reading your posts make me excited for my own trip...and hopeful. 😀 Hope your having fun and keep up the great and useful posts!!

Have fun and good luck with the food plan! I went to Disney at under a month post-op... OMG that was HARD! Went to Sea World and the San Diego Zoos for Christmas and that was a bit easier, but still challenging. But mostly because I am not able to eat much salad yet. And I kept telling my husband I needed him to order something that I can eat off his plate and he just wasn't getting it... at least, not until the last day lol. Everything he ordered was horrible for me. He still doesn't understand... lean Proteins first, healthy veggies second... and extremely small amounts of everything else. And don't get me started on the portions he brings me when he gets my food!

Anyhow... going back to Disney again in May, so I will have to check back to this thread to see what you founds at Disney. I stuck to Soup and chili since I was on a soft diet at the time.

Happy friday everyone!! Tomorrow at 6am i fly from Jersey to Orlando for a week down in disney/seaworld/universal. Obviously the thought of going on vacation, ESPECIALLY Disney, can be stressful when it comes to food. So with this post, i am going to keep track every day of how i did as far as food, and choices i was able to make throughout my day. And in doing so, hopefully i can encourage and help others, along with getting advice from you guys!! I will be posting pics and keeping you guys updated as much as possible. Any questions or anything you would like me to find out for you while im down there, let me know!!! Today i weighed in at 228. If i maintain that for the week ill be happy BUT i think we can lose a couple. What do you think?

P.S. - i told myself i would allow myself one food item per day that i will try, that i usually dont eat. But i am going to incorporate it into my calorie intake.

And please no negative comments. All positive on this friend. Nothing positive to say, then stay away!!

here is my schedule

Saturday- seaworld
sunday- epcot
monday- chef mickeys for bfast and magic kingdom after hour
tuesday- hollywood studios
wednesday- universal/islands of adventure
thursday- magic kingdom
friday- animal kingdom
saturday pool day
WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO. No way i could have done all that at 386 pounds!!!

HAVE.A.BLAST!!!![emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji175][emoji175]

Just got back from all those places with my family. I'm 4 months PO and it was so amazing not running/hiding from cameras!! My entire family was there and it was such a great and freeing time!!
After all that letting lose, I came back weighing less than I went

So Jake, have a fantastic time because with all that activities and walking, the weight keeps dropping no matter what your little pouch allows you to eat!! I wish I could say I was as conscientious as you, I wasn't and I was prepared for the consequences.

I'll definitely be following your adventures

This is my Breakfast for today. Today is Epcot. This will no doubt be the hardest day of my trip. I’ve debated if I would have a drink or not. Obviously no beer. I’m still undecided. But also it’s probably the best park for food. IMO. But they do have a lobster roll here. So I’m thinking my treat today will be a the lobster roll without the roll of course. I’ll keep you guys updated!

You'll do just fine. There are plenty of options and you'll be getting lots of exercise. I'm going on a cruise in two weeks to Celebrate my 55th birthday and this will be my second cruise post-bariatric-surgery. Easy peasy. So many healthy options available.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
