Stall at eight months?

Recommended Posts

Is it normal to stall for three or more weeks at around the eight month mark? I was 360.8 the day of surgery and I am down to between 244 and 248 now. (I've been fluctuating between these weights for the past three weeks). I'm going to be re-introducing swimming in addition to my walking, but the stall still is starting to worry me.

I mean, at least the two of us are no longer morbidly obese, but still...

Typical Try a fast or cleanse worked for me - I would not panic we all have been stalled.

yes - I hit several stalls on my journey. They seemed to last longer the further out I got. There were a couple of times I thought, "well, this is it...", but then my weight loss would start up again.

You and I are nearly identical--surgery day weight, current weight, eight months. I've been doing a dance around the 242-244 range for two weeks now, and I'm choosing not to panic (despite the panic wanting so badly to erupt) because I was losing so steadily for most of the fall so it seems inevitable that my body would suddenly go "WAIT." I don't have any wisdom about when it will end, but at least: This has to be normal, since I'm right there with you, too!

I literally just feel like I'm done. I have made practically no progress for the last 3 months. I feel like this is it for me sometimes. Its so depressing :(

you should still be able to lose weight - but unfortunately, you may have to cut calories or bump up your exercise to do it. I was trying to maintain in the 130s for awhile, but it was too hard to sustain. I could have, but evidently, it wasn't important enough to me to do what I needed to do to stay there.

Stall seems tentatively broken. Will know for certain tomorrow, but I think that adding swimming back into my regimen has helped.

Everyone loses at different rates, and your starting weight was actually fairly low.

In positive news, stall definitely broken. Down to 242.9 this morning.

Isn't it crazy how it works like that? The same weight for days in a row and then boom - 3-5 pounds down in 1 day!

I feel like im gonna drop 10lbs suddenly to make up for the past few weeks stalling. Sitting right on my lows as of this morning.

Honestly, I expect to hit a stall next two weeks, but I'm hoping the swimming can prevent the holiday stall. I'm still eating primarily protein-heavy, but I've discovered I can tolerate certain sweets in moderation. (like a cookie with my protein)

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
