My plan allows salad in week 5. I've been eating small amounts since then, but really, after I eat my Proteins there's no room left for anything else at this stage (nearly 8 weeks post surgery).

I started playing with small salads after about a month - doc had added veg to my diet after ten days as my Protein intake was already more than adequate at that time. I generally use chopped spinach rather than lettuce owing to its somewhat better nutritional profile; for some reason. lettuce seems to be one of those things that some have a hard time tolerating for quite a while, though I had no problem with it.

I usually made them as part of a normal protein based meal rather than an add on. I cut back the meat of a normal meal from a nominal 3 oz to 2 oz, then added a few grams each of chopped spinach, grape Tomato, avo, snap pea, scallion, cheese, bell pepper, etc. (whatever we had around...)

I was told not until around 3 months for any kind of raw veggies as they're hard to digest. I'm 7wks out and missing salads as well. Hang in there it goes quick.

I was a month to 6 weeks for salad. I do have some but less on the iceberg lettuce as too much bothers me. I get a grilled chicken salad and more or less eat the top and only partial if the lettuce. The baby spinach settles much better as I put that in almost everything I cook. When you do have lettuce take it slow at first and see how you feel.

I technically have been allowed to eat anything I can tolerate since 4 weeks. I am almost 3 months and find most veggies are fine, but I dont tolerate lettuces yet. They just dont digest well yet.

I think I was about the same Rick. I started with baby spinach and baby power greens and things like english cucumbers (seedless), avo, tomatoes, purple onion and even red bell pepper. No issues. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
