Problem digesting meat?

Recommended Posts

I'm 6 weeks post op and have just started eating some soft meats. This is making me very sick and I've even experienced the dumping syndrome. Has anyone had this problem with meats? Any suggestions?

What meats are you eating? Make sure they're low fat - 93/7 beef or ground turkey. No more fat than that really.

Yeah, as @lvidacovich said, the only time I had issues with meat was when it was too fatty.

Sorry you're dealing with that.

Now that I'm almost 8 months post bypass I can eat all meat but beef in ANY form is nasty now because I can taste the "blood" no matter how it's cooked, and steak was one of my favorite foods.

Way to early for solid meats - I can barely eat a small slices of skirt steak, beat to hell and tender. I agree with above if it has white on it - Trim it all off - The fat is most likely tearing you up plus the texture,

At that point ground turkey, pork or fish or shellfish - Hamburger may be a little to fatty and rough that early

**I just got back from lunch and ordered civeche, No way i was doing a meat or chicken

I do very lean chicken, ground turkey or fish. I will try some super lean ground beef on occasion but I'm not a huge fan of red meat. I'm guessing the meats your eating are too fatty. Try something leaner.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
