Pre-op diet prior to liquid diet

Recommended Posts

I have my consultation appointment coming up and know I will have appointments with a dietician and be tracking my food for at least 4 months. What type of plan do they put you on? Do they go ahead and put you on a plan similar to an eating plan post op?

I wasn't given a specific plan pre-op or even for the 2 weeks leading up to surgery. Personally I did low-carb high Protein and that worked well enough to get me to my pre-op weight needed in time.

So they will likely have a goal weight they want me at prior to the surgery? How much is typically required to lose prior to surgery?

Yes, absolutely. They want to make sure you can stick to something before surgery. Mine was 5% of my weight. I was 335 and needed to hit 318. I went to Europe and came back at 352 and only had 3 months to get down to 318 but I did it.

20 lbs over 2 months. No white flower products / no sugary crap either. High Protein verry low carbs is the ticket. I lost 60 lbs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
