Pre-op diet prior to liquid diet

I have my consultation appointment coming up and know I will have appointments with a dietician and be tracking my food for at least 4 months. What type of plan do they put you on? Do they go ahead and put you on a plan similar to an eating plan post op?

I wasn't given a specific plan pre-op or even for the 2 weeks leading up to surgery. Personally I did low-carb high protein and that worked well enough to get me to my pre-op weight needed in time.

So they will likely have a goal weight they want me at prior to the surgery? How much is typically required to lose prior to surgery?

Yes, absolutely. They want to make sure you can stick to something before surgery. Mine was 5% of my weight. I was 335 and needed to hit 318. I went to Europe and came back at 352 and only had 3 months to get down to 318 but I did it.

20 lbs over 2 months. No white flower products / no sugary crap either. High protein verry low carbs is the ticket. I lost 60 lbs.
