Will I ever learn?????

Recommended Posts

I rode 40+ miles on my bike today. I did great with my Water and my RX bars, but I was hungry afterward, no suprise. My car tire got a flat and I had to wait over 2 hours at Discount Tire to get it fixed. Anyway, I walked to Chik Filet and got a healthy lunch. Great. Got my car back and THEN drove through McDonalds and got a LARGE fry!!!! I ate it all, wishing there was more salt. (Clue.) And now I am sick. My tum really hurts and feel like throwing up. Remorse, remorse, remorse. Looking back, it wasn't hunger - it was salt. So lesson learned - I need to use some electrolytes on longer rides. But oh how it makes me sad to see how easily I just drove through and got those fries. More head work to do.

Woohoo congrats on the 40-mile ride. Celebrate big once you feel better. Lesson learned. *smile* NUUN tabs are my saving grace for electrolytes/hydration.

yea - I can't eat that much fat at one sitting. Maybe 4 or 5 fries, but not a whole thing of them. I'd be in the bathroom vomiting. Congrats on the 40 miles, though!

If you cycled 40 miles you earned the fries 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks, but not when it made me sick. I learned that I was craving salt, not food, and I made an impulsive, painful choice. So lesson learned - I'll take some salted sunflower seeds with me to have afterward and will use some electrolyte replacement during a long ride.

It's an Austrian brand, but my stomach does so well on their electrolytes.

I drink it during my runs, but also in the days leading up to a long race, like a half marathon, and I feel so great. I can't do gels.

I rode and finished the 52 mile bike race/ride of El Tour de Tucson today! (Hubby did the 100 mile.) It was an amazing experience and just even more amazing to think that I could do this at all. It would have been unthinkable a year ago. I am so proud of my finishing medal!

I used my new hydration and nutrition strategy and felt great - not even thirsty at the end. I don't feel sore anywhere except my poor bony bottom that no amount of cushioning seems to help. I may tell a different tale tomorrow when I wake up, but I sure feel good now. I maintained a strict whole food plant base diet this week and did not experience any lack of energy, muscle weakness, or extreme fatigue.

You've made good progress, mistakes happen, forgive yourself and promise to do better. Beating yourself up and having a negative mindset will only make your progress slower and hold you back

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
