We are not on this journey alone...lets all reach out to each other... will make time go by faster...

MELLO1 My Dr will only do the sleeve...says it is much safer as none of the gut has to be cut....and there is no by passing the stomach....it is merely stapled and taken away leaving only about as much as a small banana and shaped like a banana.....it has less complications than by passes....good luck with the procedure you chose...Sissy J.

Hey! I'm going with the by-pass because as my doctor recommends because of the reflux problems and I have a small hiatal hernia that the doctor will also fix. This year was the worse for it and it's not going to get any better and I don't want to take the steroids; I already don't want to keep taking this HBP meds as it is.

Thanks for the clarification, I had read up on it some more and I understand better now.

liquid diet starts Oct 14, surgery on Oct 28th...God willing

Oh good luck to you and best wishes! Just stay focus and on mission. I had to review what I was supposed to be eating because my weight stayed the same this week and discovered that I was eating way too much Protein, but I'm making those adjustments.

I used to do a month long juice detox fast in the fall until the acid reflux got so bad that I couldn't do it, but I'm hoping that by the time I need to do the liquid diet my body will be ready for it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
