I had surgery yesterday. All went well. Now just trying to keep the fluids going and start introducing pre-mixed protein shakes. In a bit of pain and nausea, but I remember this is just temporary!

Cheated too and then called a wise friend who has been through this too and she said Do you really think you’re the only one to cheat? Put it into prospective. Lol

Lol is really hard. Mine is mostly liquid for 2 weeks with only one cup of veggies. I try to do my best. I have dropped 8 pounds since last Tuesday (6 days). I currently weight 244.4 if that helps.

My insurance is approved and my surgery date is December 10th for an RNY. I’m going to try and really focus on mindful eating between now and then.

That’s my surgery date as well.

My surgery is set for 12/30 in Hackensack NJ!! Anybody else?

So exciting to see so many posts on this thread! It means we are all getting closer and closer to surgery!

My excitement of the day is that I discovered Ensure Max protein shakes, and they are my favorite so far. It's fun experimenting, and right now I just buy whatever is on sale. Ensure was on sale, so I tried it, and I love it! So that's my exciting news! ha ha ha!!

So, today I had my final appointment prior to surgery and pre-registered and given information about post-op and what to expect. WoooooHooooo, I am so happy! I have been on my liver shrinking diet and started a week early and when I realized I wouldn't be getting the foods I so loved, I went and got me a quarter-pounder, fries and a large sprite. I felt so guilty after eating it but the next day got back on track! So, Tuesday was my actual start date of the 14 day liver shrinking diet but again I started earlier. Friday 22, 2019 I went for my appointment were you had to bring your support person and I was so shocked that my husband only missed one question on the post test after they talk to you. I was so sure he was not listening just going through the motions but oh my goodness he and I both only missed one question! Questions such as when do you start your pureed, soft, and regular diet, how much are you suppose to eat on the pureed diet ( I missed this one) 1 Tbs, 1/2 cup or 3 Tbs. I chose the 1/2 cup and it should have been the 3Tbs. Then they spoke about what will give you dumping syndrome and then had you feel out your calendar of when you start your cleanse, when you start you Clear Liquids to full clear, to pureed, soft and regular! We then had a trainer come in and speak to us about exercise after surgery. It was a day full of great information and I really enjoyed it. Also today, they wanted to make sure you have purchased your Vitamins, which I had, I had purchased mine previously and so I am now ready for this surgery! My surgery is scheduled for 6:30a.m. and she said I was the first on the list!

Oh wow! I never heard of being quizzed after a visit. It’s a good way to know whether you are really paying attention or not. I’d be nervous having to be quizzed because sometimes your emotions are all over the place lol. I have a binder with all the information they print out for you to keep track of everything.

I start my 2 week preop diet tomorrow! Final appt on 12-4 to see the surgeon and anesthesia. I bought some broths to take to work and sip on that have a good amount of protein in it. I’m thinking of which unflavored protein to buy. I heard Unjury is good but there are so many different options.

Good luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow!!! Can’t wait to hear how it went for you.

RNY Gastric Bypass December 23rd baby! Best of luck to everyone!

New to the forum, RNY scheduled for Dec 19, liquid diet starts today, preop appts Dec 6. Im a bundle of nerves!

Really, with just a tomorrow left of my full liquid, I have been not happy with the shakes as of late. Since I was having a day, then in liquid phase, were to be 5. Good Lord, my taste buds are like no not again. Luckily only need to be 4 ounces but I think that’s it the problem.
Anyway, good luck every on the way to the winner’s circle this morning!
