First Meal After Liquid Stage

Recommended Posts

I’m 2 weeks into the 3 week liquid stage and I’ve never been more excited to chew something! I’m googling food ideas and drooling over the pictures like they’re some kind of illicit porn.

What was your first chewable meal post-surgery? I’m fantasizing about a soft boiled egg and cottage cheese. I’m planning on setting out the good china and making a production of it. I guess that’s all part of the process; not just inhaling food but savoring it. I’m so excited!! 😃

Congrats!!! You are gonna SOOOO enjoy that first meal! Take tiny bites and go slowly!

Soft scrambled egg with cottage cheese and cheddar and taco bell mild sauce (should have omitted the cheese until I was regular) cuz it caused all kinds of mischief being backed up. :) Emphasis on soft scrambled...

But the soft boiled eggs with a tiny bit of butter went down very easily too.

Thanks all! Just bought a cookbook from Amazon by Sarah Kent. I prefer the hard copy so I’ll be devouring that once it comes. Prior to this surgery I’d cram any food into my mouth regardless of whether I really liked it. I need to work on switching to high quality, nutritious food; quality over quantity. Very excited!

My typical day is two Protein Drinks to get my 60 g. of Protein and a small single serving of 4oz of cottage cheese. I've done that for about a week. Will try to replace cottage cheese with one scrambled egg. I am very cautious about upsetting my stomach. I'm not in a hurry to eat a lot or often.

I'm totally feeling your post! I'm taking it nice & slow. My surgeon and nutritionist also tell me "Take your time and take advantage of the honey moon first year stage". No rush to dive into eating a variety of food. SO EXCITED!

Jen, keep me up to date with your favorite recipes out of the cookbook. I plan on getting the hard copy, too.

first chewable meal today, boiled egg and grated cheese . I have been dying for a boiled egg! Going to look for other stuff I can have on this phase . Haven’t wanted to eat much ,but this may spur me on! What are other people eating on the soft /textured phase ?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
