I eat my soup as usual (the “normal way”) and then wait for 30 minutes to drink anything.

I eat the broth first, then the solids.

@Starflower This was one of my "early on" questions for my NUT. i luvvvvv cereal!! (high in carbs, i know!)? When she explained that i shouldn't/can't ever eat/drink at same time...
I had my gastric bypass surgery this past May 16th and have a question about eating soup. So we're not supposed to drink any liquids 30 minutes before a meal or 30 minutes after our meal, or during our meals. So what do we do when eating soup? I had chicken vegetable soup for dinner tonight and was just wondering what is the correct protocol, we are supposed to eat soup? Eat the solids and broth separately 30 minutes after consuming one or the other? I didn't do this, of course, I just ate the soup the way I have been for the past 50 years with no problems at all. I was just curious about what the "correct" way is for us WLS patients.
