So had my sleeve yesterday afternoon. I totally expect to have pain but is it normal for every tiny baby sip to hurt like hell once it hit? Even my pain meds hurt 😭

how long does this last?

Are you home already? If not, may I suggest that you advocate very strongly for different pain meds. Once your pain is well managed you may feel a lot happier during the recovery period that follows

❤CONGRATULATIONS❤

on a safe surgery btw

Thanks guys- doing a little better tonight. Currently negotiating my release lol

i got caught up in a shift change so I was almost 2 hours late on getting pain meds. And that pain is something real!!

as the day has gone on it’s been a pretty achey but not as much of sharp, excruciating pain of last night and this morning.

I started to feel “back to normal” on day 5. By then I was sore but not in major pain and only took my pain meds at night. Very cold drinks bothered me some so I stuck to slightly colder than room temp for the first few weeks. I think it’s all preference and what works for you. Take your time recovering. Congratulations!

I’m home now, and sooo glad to be in my own bed!! I am hoping some real rest and being able to manage my own medication will help a ton. As the day has gone on drinks are a little easier. Still have some pain but now I am pretty much certain the lower tummy stabbing is gas- never have I just wanted to fart so bad 😂😂😂

thank for the encouragement- I was really in the deep this morning. Ok I’m gonna go sleep now.

Update- after a rough week, 2trips to the er and a bunch of tests that said I was fine.... my surgeon advised me to try some Ibuprofen. He said that the muscles near my belly button were probably spasming because of some trauma during the surgery ( cameras and tools and such)
Anyway... I slept through the whole night last night and feel amazing today!!!!!

My Dr sent me home with muscle relaxers and they have been a life saver for sure.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
