I’m a week post op and still cannot walk very far due to the incision and I am just plain worn out. I want to be able to get a lot of steps in but don’t seem to have the energy. Any suggestions?

Add more Water, sufficient Protein supplements, start Vitamins when instructed and try to be patient because getting back to normal takes time.

You are at a caloric deficit while healing so all of your energy is going towards that but it will get better soon 💜

You're still healing, so you'll gain energy with time. Don't push it. Some of us take a little longer than others and it depends on what kind of shape you were in before the surgery too. Take a few steps each day and you'll get better each day. Good luck on your WLS journey.

Wait, relax, listen to your body - you are still healing

Give it time. This is a big surgery and there is a LOT of healing. It does tend to wipe you out for a while. Get some walking in every day, but don't push yourself to the point of exhaustion. Your body will tell you when you can start doing more. Healing is the biggest priority right now.

My incisions didn’t start feeling better until the end of week 2. I just finished the end of week 3 and have been making an effort to get more steps in by taking a few short walks everyday...it still makes me tired.

Take your time and don’t overdo it. Rest when you have to.

I read on here to walk a little (during commercials, if you watch tv) in your living room. Something I kept drinking was my energy supplement (Spark by Advocare). Check with your doctor. It definitely helps me with my energy along with my Multivitamin. I also held my stomach where my largest incision is when I walk and it helped! I agree with everyone else! Be kind to yourself and let your body rest, but move so you don't develop blood clots and only push yourself to the point where your body can handle it!! This is a life-long journey/marathon, not a sprint :).

Your body is exhausted from not getting enough sleep before surgery and during your time in the hospital bcuz if all the poking , produng, vitals checks 3 times per 12 hour shift, and all that walking to alleviate gas.

[emoji3] hey take it easy on yourself. You just went through major surgery. Don't beat yourself up. That is what the psychological ecal was for before the surgery. Hugs & Hope you get better at your energy to walk. Just take it in baby steps like we had to when first learning how to walk as babies

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
