Shave legs?

Recommended Posts

Okay this is definately a gal question. I don't shave my legs because honestly I have a real hard time without because of my stomach. My husband doesn't care and I don't wear shorts or skirts. But I'm trying to decide if I should before surgery... or if no one is going to care. What do you think?

The doctors and nurses at the hospital have seen everything. They're not going to care. Be yourself and be comfortable.

I have psoriasis and don’t shave because every time I do I end up with cut open bleeding spots. I didn’t and no one on my surgical team cared

It's actually better NOT to shave at least a couple of days before surgery. Shaving causes micro abrasions in the skin and can lead to infections, Of course, this is critical if you are having a knee replacement - not so much with abdominal surgery. Pre-op nurses are VERY accustomed to unshaved legs, as it is the instruction that many patients are given. Besides, no one else is gonna see them because you will have SCDs (Sequential Compression Device) on your legs, and perhaps TED hose as well.

No one will care. When I go to the gynecologist, I remind myself that there’s no way I’m the worse they’ve seen lol! I didn’t shave mine because after surgery, I didn’t want itchy legs

I’m sure the guys don’t shave their legs so why should you have to?

The team is looking at your belly button - not your legs! :)

And sad to say, they do so Many in A Year, they may not even recall your face! So all my preceding sisters are correct, the tummy and only the tummy is Their Goal!👈😛👉

So its definently a personal preference what you want to do. I dont shave much because my stomach hangs over in rolls from my c section scar. I while ago and when i did shave i was out of breath trying to shave those hairy things. So i told my husband dont touch my legs im only shaving them 1month. Lol. I laugh now but it was a real chore to shave. Well looking back i shaved the day before surgery and was sooo happy i did. They have tolook at ur legs and put the compression socks. I was happy everytime a nurse came to change something i felt good about myself cuz those legs were shaved. Maaybe get a pedicure too. I did that too the day before surgery and was happy in recovery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
