Hey guys I know we have a July 2019 topic we can talk to each other on but I thought it might be neat to have a schedule so we know who’s going when and we can check on each other! I had a significant repair too! The pain lessens in a few days! At 13 days out I don’t feel any pain from it at all now I just feel sometimes when I swallow it’s like a little restriction almost where they suture it. Hard to explain the feeling lol

Hi, there Surgery sibling I am having RNY on the 31st. I had issues on day 3 with liquid diet, but it is getting better, and you are correct keeping busy helps. I'm not paying too much attention to the scale because... I started my journey in October and took a break in Feb. due to a job promotion and new grand daughter and I gained 14 lbs in the 3 months I was on pause from the program, then at the end of last month I broke my foot, so I've been in a boot not getting much exercise. I would just be happy to get back down to my October weight. But I'm still smaller than my highest weight ever so there is that. I am right there with you on the nervousness and excitement. I am sure this week is going to fly bye.

My pre op appointment is July 29th where the Internist will review my test results before giving the final go-ahead for the 31st. I am doing well on the pre-op diet, and have lost about 10 pounds in the past month total. My tests show a fatty liver so I am really following the protocol closely.

So if it is not too late, Please include me. I have met all the requirements for surgery already, in terms of test results so I am pretty sure it will be a go ahead.

I really would like to be involved in the post surgery followup, to see how you are all doing!

Hi there, I am also on the 31st. I am 5 days into my liver shrinking diet, it was tough on day 3 but the closer it gets to surgery day the easier it will be. I hope all goes well on the 29th and you get approved for the 31st. We will be surgery siblings. I am also having RNY. Can you explain what a Pouch revision is?

I’m July 24 as well. Can’t remember if I posted here or not.

The surgeon will not know what he is going to do until he looks. I had an endoscopy recently, and all looks healthy, but the surgeon was a gastroenterologist and could not tell me if I had stretched the pouch. I just know I can eat a lot of food at one sitting. The goal will be to reduce the capacity. If he can, indeed, reduce the capacity that may be all we do. If not, he will modify my RNY so that a greater length of intestine is bypassed. Mine was a short bypass, done 20 years ago. Really not as effective as what they are doing now.

Good luck with this pre surgical diet! My only problem is that I go to sleep hungry. Not something I have done in many, many years.

Allergies have hit hard. Have been coughing all day. It needs to go away as this surgery needs to happen!!
