Hey everyone. Had my VSG surgery done Wednesday morning and have been tolerating liquids just fine since. No nausea. However I’m still in a considerable amount of pain!! When did the pain really let up for you guys? On top of that, I keep coughing up phlegm and it’s KILLING my stomach. Splinting with a pillow does absolutely nothing. I can’t wait to eat a teeny tiny portion of ricotta bake!!!

This is why I was recommended to have the sleeve versus the rny. I hope there’s a way around this!

I’m July 24 as well. Can’t remember if I posted here or not.

Thank you! I’m a bundle of nerves but I’m going to try to just enjoy the new few days off of work with my two little ones and let whatever happens, happen. The coordinator called and let me know that the last two forms they requested are sent back and she designated everything as “urgent” with my surgery date next to it so she said if she doesn’t hear anything tomorrow, she’ll give them a call Monday.

I have! There was a new form they needed my PCP to fill out and I’ve been waiting on them to send it back. I just called and they faxed it this morning so hopefully that’s the final thing to get my approval. Trying to remain positive.

Definitely cutting it close!! They submitted everything last Monday the 8th! They certainly are taking their time.

My surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday, the 24th of July. My insurance has yet to approve it. I started my liquid diet yesterday. I can’t help but feel like insurance is going to deny my request and it’s driving me bananassssss!!!

Hey there! I don’t have any co-morbidities either. No PCP here really. I used to see a doctor but he was really judgmental so I left. This is the first I’m hearing of needing to have a PCP?? My consult is this Monday.

Anyone here with BCBS of Tennessee? Looking for experiences with approvals or denials and what the requirements were for surgery!
