New here!

My projected month was October but given everything goes to plan when I see my doc next week (I must be less than when I was last there...which is gonna be slightly hard, since my weight was wrote incorrectly the last time I was there! ) Anyhow, my surgery should be Sept 10th! Wish me well next week at the doc!

To quote Dr Suess
Oh the Places you will Go----
Oh the Things you will See! But Welcome to our World, the Minor heart aches are more than outweighed by the MAJOR benefits. Very very few of us would even want to return to where we were before, I have had a strangely difficult road to recovery but I would never ever return to the Frustr8 I was before September 5th 2018. She was obese, sick, had given up on herself and almost life itself. No No. Never Ever Again will I Be There! I'm down over 140 pounds since then, don't know if I have gotten cuter, cuteness is optional at 73 , but people no longer ignore the fat lady in the corner, I'm living large with a much smaller body and I am a Force to Contend With, like my Country Soul Sister Reba McEntire I'M NOT GOING OUT LIKE THAT ! I'm sassy , RedHeaded and a Strong Proud Person Now. So let's hear your stories too, okay?

Official lap band to RNY revision date is 9/13/19. Woohoo!! Did my pre-op labs while I was there, found out I can still drink coffee( praise all the saints!) and start my pre-op diet in a week. Yeah!

I have my VSG pre-op on the 21st next week. Are there any questions I should make sure to ask my surgeon?

I'm definitely going to ask about any pre-op diet. He's mentioned it in passing before, so hopefully it will be fully explained and not too long!

Hmm let’s see. When I went today, I asked the following:
Expected stay in hospital
Blood clot prevention- I have a history of one
Post op, does my Protein fluids count in the 64 I’m supposed to drink

Pre-op, I didn’t really have too many. He went through the meds he’d be ordering for after. He gave me a hand out for my pre-op diet. It’s fairly straight forward, so it was pretty easy to understand.
Oh I did ask if I needed to buy Vitamins and he said other than B1(thiamin) I won’t take any until I transition to soft foods at week 3.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
