Swallowing liquids

Recommended Posts

Thanks for your response. I am sipping however there are times where i’m so thirsty that I gulp and the pain in unbearable.
I realize that my insides are still healing and I need to keep sipping for a bit. I am just wondering if this pain will slowly go away.

I do believe the pain will go away as long as you remember to sip. Gulping may always hurt.

It hurt me the first month. I'm almost 4 months post-op and can drink/gulp normally.

I’m also 4 months post sleeve and I second what gaby says.

The first 2 weeks post sleeve I felt like someone had punched me hard in the solar plexus every time I swallowed. Didn’t matter if I drank slowly or faster, it just hurt really bad.
From weeks 2-4 that feeling had settled into a vague discomfort and after the first month I can’t recall it doing that ever again.

Now I still get pain if I try to chug more than 4 ounces at once or If I drink too soon after eating, but it’s a different kind of pain

Sip, sip, sip. Don't gulp or drink like you used to.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
