Zero Post-op Nausea

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve yesterday morning (6/4/19) and I have had zero nausea! I just wanted to share what my doc gave to head off post-op nausea. I put on a Scopolamine patch the night before surgery and then took an Emend on the way to the hospital for surgery. I truly believe these two things kept me from being nauseous. I know if insurance doesn't cover the Emend it can be pretty pricey. I say it is worth every penny!

I had a patch they put behind my ear, not sure if it's the same one you mentioned. I also had no nausea.

It is very different for everyone.

Most places use the hyoscine patch behind the ear now, which I had too, I also had ondansetron, cyclizine, prochlorperazine and still had horrendous nausea and vomiting. The other med you mention isn't used in the UK except for kids with cancer.

Congrats! I had great results too. I was only nauseated immediately post surgery for about an hour. Then I got a scapolamine patch and zofran in the iv and that took care of things!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
