I am 3 months post op and very pleased with results so far but am slowing right down. I started at 290 lbs, surgery day (January 11th) 272lbs and today 229. I have started drinking tea during the day (typically British) and am slowing down. Does anyone know if this is contributing to slower weight loss. I usually average 3lbs per week but am stalling

I think I would depend on if you were using sweeteners and how much in your tea. The tea itself should cause a stall. Sometimes or bodies need recalibration time.

tea wouldn't have an effect on that unless you're adding a lot of things like cream and sugar to it. Weight loss DOES slow down a lot after the first couple of months. Just stick to your program and the weight will continue to come off.

Thanks for your replies. I only have a dash of semi skimmed milk and no sugar. Doesn’t taste like it used to so I guess my taste buds have changed. Think I’ll stop and stick to Water to see if that makes a difference x

Tea wouldn't do anything unless you'd added sugar. It's probably just a natural stall. I'm in one right now at 16 weeks.

I meant tea shouldn’t cause a stall😬

Try the tea without the milk to see if that helps first before ditching it altogether.

Or properly measure and log the amount to see how many calories its adding to your day.

Good luck 💜

Oh no. Hope it moves for you soon. So annoying when you are eating a quarter of what you used to but nothing is coming off. I have to admit tho, I’m not doing any exercise yet apart from walking (which no longer hurts)

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the tea. I’m always cold now so I drink at least 4 cups of Decaf tea with Truvia everyday. I can’t keep weight on at nearly a year out! I’d bet the ranch you are in a stall or slowdown phase.🙂

I've been drinking tea since day 2 post-op (I'm from Ireland, LOL, we can't be without it) - with a tiny amount of Fairlife fat free milk and that's it. I measure the milk out at the beginning of the day so it's part of my calorie allocation. Anyway, I drink 2 full pots a day - about 120 oz. It hasn't contributed to any stalls, gains or losses as far as I am aware. My hydration levels are great though (I drink the tea very weak, only 1 bag in a 60 oz pot, so there isn't a lot of caffeine).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
