From a 12 month insurance wait to.... NONE. I am approved!!!

Recommended Posts

Well, I am officially APPROVED and scheduled for my RNY on June 3rd!

For those of you that saw my introduction, I had mentioned that I had a weird insurance deal (small company policy) that made it questionable as to how long of a supervised weight loss was required. It was written as if it was 12 months, and I kind of settled into that in my mind as just how it would be. However, my insurance nurse is awesome. She really stepped up for me and worked so hard to clear the road blocks. Amazing....

So now I have a kind of mental whiplash, but a good one!

Feeling excited, nervous and above all else, BLESSED.

Great news! I had brutal insurance before that required a 12 month supervised program and made me use a key fob to track all of my exercises at a hospital gym (the results of which were sent electronically weekly). All of these hoops. I made it 5 months into that program but wasn't seeing the weight loss they were going to ask of me and gave up. Four years later, I work somewhere else with a new insurance with zero wait or requirements and finally got it done. Good luck with your surgery!!

That sounds awful! So glad you were able to get some insurance that wasn't so ridiculous and get it done!

Also- I LOVE the "but did you die" LOL!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
