Vitamins - Yuck!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I am currently 4 weeks post op and was told to start my Vitamins this week. I have the Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin chewable and the Calcium chewables....to put it bluntly, I hate them. I cant even smell them without gagging. Not to mention the calcium is so spicy on my tongue for some reason. Did anyone else have this issue?? Also, does anyone just take ones that you can swallow? I swallow pills just fine and if that's an option, I would sooo prefer it! Let me know!

I agree. I started then today as well and they're awful! But, I don't think a chewable with Iron would be good in any brand. I have Bariatric Fusion in orange cream. Yuck!

In Aus we get to take BN chewables for the first month and they are gross. I even tried to crush or dissolve them so I could disguise them and it didn’t work. They are like industrial strength horse tablets

I agree. I see my surgeon 4/2 for my 3-month post-op visit and am going to ask at what point I can switch to pills instead of chewables

I loved the chewables but they are pricey. I switched to capsules this time.

I've never taken the chewables, only the ones that are swallowed. I'm glad too, because I don't think I'd like the chewables, and I've had no problems swallowing the pills. I think the one I take is the Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin. It used to be a once a day pill; now, it's three a day. I don't love that, but at least I can take them all at the same time. I've just got to make sure I take it around 30-45 minutes after eating.

I was told to start Vitamins right away. I was doing liquid multivitamin and Calcium and dissolvable Vitamin D and B-12. I'm not having problems swallowing pills though so once I was done with the liquids I went back to swallow pills for the multivitamin and calcium.

The multi chew is so gross! They made me throw up from the amount of gagging it took just to get them down. I switched to a swallowable one but they make me nauseous for a good hour afterwords.. Waiting for my powdered Vitamin to come in so I can try that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
