After approval how long to complete surgery?

Recommended Posts

After you receive your final approval from your insurance, in my case Cigna; How long is that approval good for? How long do they give you to schedule surgery?

(The reason I am asking is my 90 days is up at the end of May. So I am hoping for a surgery date in June. So far only one of my co workers is asking for vaction during that same time period. Also we have our annual audit in July and I have to be here for that. Otherwise I will have to have surgery after July, and I didn't know if insurance gave you a "window of time" to have the surgery performed.)

I am asking for 2 weeks off just like a regular vacation. My manager knows about the surgery but I have not shared it with the rest of the office yet.

I have Cigna as well but you might want to check with them. The way it worked out for me is my surgeons office sent in all the paper work after my 90 day final appointment. It took them 10-15 business days to approve (I was lucky and it was closer to 10) and then my surgeons first available date for surgery was 3 weeks out. I hadnt planned on that part. I thought it’d be approval and get ‘r done!

Sort of like Willie Wonkas Golden ticket only this one reads " Entitles Bearer to 1 (one) Bariatric Procedure to be done no more than 60 days from above date" Just a little Fizzy Lifting Drink and you're through. Then the real work of the Future starts, and that can be the toughest stage of all!

Paperwork submitted to insurance on March 7, 2019 approved on March 10, 2019 and surgery scheduled for May 13, 2019. Hope this helps....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
