Hospital bag

Recommended Posts

You don’t need much. Chapstick, phone charger, pillow. Wear something comfortable to the hospital & wear the same thing home.

I took a robe - just for added comfort.

Never wore the robe I brought. Chapstick, Hand lotion, phone with charger, change of socks, tooth brush. If staying 2 nights I would add hair brush and undies. Be prepared to walk the halls as much as you can. I wore my tennis shoes.

I loved having my robe. But, I guess you don't know whether you need it or not until you are at the hospital. I over packed this time because of the leak I had last time that left me in hospital for 2.5 months - I didn't want to be caught short again.

I just threw on a second gown for walks as I didn’t care if I flashed the world. Brought iPad, laptop, book, chapstick (MUST), toothbrush and toothpaste I didn’t use because I was too tired to find it so I got the hospital care kit. I just stayed up all night high on the anesthesia and used my phone a bit so I needed the charger. Next day I used my iPad all day because I had to drink x amount of liquid before I could be discharged. Sat in a chair and watched downloaded Netflix and just sip sip sipped. So really, I didn’t need much. Left with the clothes I arrived in.

Oh and I brought a blanket and pillow. Blanket I held against my stomach when I slept. I slept on my side and had the nurses assist me when I needed to flip.

Don’t forget earplugs and a sleep mask to mitigate the noisy hospital room and too many lights and monitors.

I definitely over packed. I brought a change of clothes, chapstick, gas x, a phone charger, coloring books, and toiletries.

I ended up only using the phone charger and chapstick!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
