Good luck to you too cmael63!

Barb, I just noticed that our heights, current weights and goal weights are approximately the same. One difference is that I'm a man. We should compare notes on how we are doing after surgery!

Yes I am too BariatricBarb! I know what to expect but I’m anxious about this working for me. I didn’t have great results with my sleeve. Good luck to you on your journey. Keep in touch!

I've seen quite a few people in this forum who are having sleeve to bypass revision. I was sort of on the fence about which to get, and I went with bypass. It seems now that was probably the right decision. (My surgeon called it the "gold standard" of bariatric surgery.)

March 26 here. I'm down for the bypass, but there's the chance they'll give me the sleeve if they can't get the bypass done safely.

Ellf, is there some reason to believe that they might not be able to do bypass safely?

Yes and no. I currently weigh 377.2 lbs. at home. I carry most of my weight in my belly, and if it's too hard to get in there, they won't do the bypass. That said, I was 392 at the doctor's a couple weeks ago, and I haven't started the presurgery Optifast yet. They have me on two weeks starting 3/11.

My surgery is March 11. Mine is not quite a revision. I had lap band 2009, had it removed Oct 2018. Now I'm going for bypass. I know some people are successful on sleeve, but in my mind it's a physical variation of the lap band. No thanks.

Hi, Cher--welcome to the group! We'll have to compare notes as we go through this at the same time.

I just started the liquid diet today. So far, so good. Are you on liquids today as well?

Sorry! Just realized this says bypass. I’m getting the sleeve. I’m on day 1 of my liquid diet. Clearly struggling with brain function lol.

Hi all. I'm on day five of the liquid diet, and I'm still amazed at how smoothly it is going. The one issue is that I really crave something savory after all the sweet Protein Shakes. I've solved that problem by having a cup or two of chicken broth around dinnertime. It has zero nutritional value but does satisfy the craving.

I'll admit that I'm not looking forward to the liquid diet. Mostly due to the price tag of the Optifast.

I'm so glad it's going well for you!

FYI, Unjury has a chicken Soup Protein mix and fusion has a couple of different Soups to help avoid the sweet taste overload.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
