I can’t believe it! My surgery date is 3/12/19!!! In less than 2 months my life is going to change!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait! In 4 weeks I start my 3 week all liquid diet. Thinking I will try and prep for that by starting early and doing breakfast/lunch a shake and dinner a proper meal.

Anyone have any tips or tricks? Tried and true recipes? Tips on stuff I MUST take with me to hospital? Thanks guys!!

Congratulations! The best thing i can recommend is do not stock up. What you like before surgery you may not like after surgery. Your taste buds will change and then you will be stuck with a bunch of stuff you no longer like or that your stomach can no longer tolerate. Pre Surgery, just get what you need for pre surgery and maybe a week after since you will be tired and not want to be out and about.. but after that its trial and error to find your new flavor :)

Good Luck!

Congratulations! I'm six weeks post-op sleeve. I took pajamas to the hospital and never needed them. But I did end up using my toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, and hand lotion. Other than that I can't think of anything you'll need there.

Believe it or not the liquid diet isn't as hard as you'd think. I had Gatorade Zero, Diet Peach Tea, Protein Shakes, sugar-free popsicles, and sugar-free Jello on mine.

I second the don't stock up rule. I liked all broth before surgery and now I can't even handle the smell of it. Good luck with your WLS journey! The clocks a ticking! :D

I couldn’t agree more about not stocking up. I’m just 5 days post op and totally sick of the Jello and popsicles I ate during the prep diet. Yeah about that prep diet....it was the worst. I was soooo miserable but now 5 days out I’m singing a different song. #successfulsurgery #lifeisgood

I am sooo nervous about the 3 week liquid diet before surgery! However, I am beyond ready for this new life! I feel incredibly blessed.

You're so right. Thank you for putting it into perspective like that for me.

The last time I will suffer. Brings tears to my eyes. ❤️

Note to self...

NO STOCKING UP.

Got it!

I am really into makeup and all that jazz, so one of the things I am booking before surgery is to get eyelash extensions so when I wake up, I'll feel all pretty. lol

On a scale of 1-10, how bad was the pain after? I was thinking of just bringing flowing dresses, would yoga pants be too constricting on the wounds? I plan on walking as soon as I wake up, I'm afraid of a blood clot forming so I plan to WALK WALK WALK! :) I really appreciate y'alls input.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
