I was never a big drinker but decided post surgery I'd never consume alcohol again. Just my choice.

90 days from first appointment to surgery

I thought it was horrible but only for the first week. Then I was feeling better everyday

I'm 54, one month post RNY, down 21 lbs

15-20 lbs is considered average. Your right on target.

Down 21 lbs. Is that slow or normal?

It would be impossible for lay persons (even Doctors) on here to diagnose to you on a forum. A sleep study would give you the answers you need.

That would be a question for Dr. They all have different criteria.

Wow! Considering that obesity is classified as a disease it's almost appalling they would make you go through that to save your life. It's almost like they're saying "prove to us your life is worth saving"

My first Dr appt was Jan 17 th I haven't had surgery yet but my insurance dies NOT require supervised weigh ins so it's looking like my surgery will be late March early April. Everything will be submitted to insurance for approval on March 7th and as soon as we get approval (my insurance is pretty quick) I'll pick a surgery date and begin my pre-op diet. I have United healthcare Medicare advantage plan.

It would be best to call them directly. Medicaid covers bariatric surgery only in some states.

Congrats! I'm 53 and rolling right along through the process! Looking at a late March early April Surgery. Well wishes!

I was thrown into instant medical menopause with the removal of my one remaining ovary (twisted and removed in an emergency surgery and my other was removed ten years earlier under the same circumstances). I have never had a single menopausal symptom and it's been over 3 years now.
