Who has had the sleeve? How did you do? Pros and cons? Would you do it again?

Like many others have said, my surgeon doesn't offer the band anymore, for the same reasons already stated. I was sleeved 11/6/18 and, also echoing the others again, only wish I had done it sooner! I'm losing slower than some people, I'm down 30lbs since surgery, 58lbs since starting pre-op diet, and 76lbs from highest weight. I am okay with slow and consistent, every body loses differently. But I FEEL great, I've had zero complications. I have no regrets at all about getting sleeved.

I’m happy with my sleeve. Weight is coming off slower than I’d like but I’m not really exercising. Need to stay after that. But feel great.

I wish I could get outside and walk. It’s so cold in Chicago and I’m not driving to a gym to walk inside. I’ve been going up and down the stairs about 10-15 times a day as my walking plus what I normally do daily.

Anyone else having trouble getting steps in due to weather? I think I need a treadmill!

I had the sleeve in August of 2018. I've had no complications. I will echo the others; I wish I had done this sooner. It's been an amazing transformation - I'm down almost 70 lbs from my surgery weight in 5 months! I'm wearing clothing sizes I haven't worn since high school. I can walk all day without getting winded or sore feet. The sleeve is far superior to the band, in my opinion. Fewer complications, less risk of needing future surgeries. Also, in order to get adjustments made to the band, you have to have a needle the size of a thumbtack stuck through your skin into the port in your abdomen.. that doesn't sound fun to me.

Hello

I was sleeved January 7, 2019. The hardest part for me was after surgery the pain in my chest from anesthesia. As far as any pain Im surprised no pain. Even my sutures haven't given me any pain. I'm down 18 lbs as of today the16th. I've eaten sugarfree jello;sf pudding; Protein shakes; gf gatorade; cream Soups strained; clear soups; sf popsicles and so far so good. Today I bought Pho chicken broth and no problems. I have my 2 week checkup next week moving on to he next phase. But so far so good

oh and I did have a meltdown and ate a small mashed potatoes and gravy sure did...

I was sleeved 8/16/18. I've been super lucky with no complications whatsoever. No nausea, no vomiting. I've tolerated every food I've tried. I am shedding hair a bit but that has happened to me with every surgery I've had, not just WLS. I have lost 69 from my HW and 50.3 since surgery (today is my 5 month surgiversary). I'm very happy with my progress.

Very happy with my sleeve - surgery 6/1, down 94lbs, feeling great. No regrets other than waiting so long.

I had the band and lost 90 pounds. However, it slipped after 1.5 years, and I had repositioning surgery. Never quite worked the same after that. So 4 years later I got the band removed, and 3 months later (last month) I got the sleeve. I would not recommend the bad. It seems to cause problems for the majority after a few years

My regret is not doing it sooner. I lost 20 before surgery and 34.5 since surgery 2.5 months ago. It's HARD. I'm struggling a lot this week, I just want to stuff my face and I am frustrated as hell, but it's worth it. I would have binged dozens of times in these past 2.5 months if the surgery didn't prevent it.

I had mine 12/11/18. I started the process in 2016 but my partner got sick and subsequently passed away so that put a halt to my plans for a bit. I am thrilled with my results. could not be happier.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
