I made a mistake last week and had a couple of lines of coke with beers while at a friend's house over Xmas

3 days later I started to feel nauseous and had diarohea

I've now been laid up in bed for 3 days vomiting and have flu symptoms

My sleeve is sore and I haven't eaten for 3 days

Is it just coincidence that I've caught a winter bug or have the drugs and drink done this to me?

Don't think I've minimized anything - it's obvious the OP has a problem. That's why she posted, after all.

Your post makes it clear you have personal issues with drug users. Perhaps it is best to resolve those rather than taking it out on unrelated people on a forum.

I'm sorry to hear what you went through, and I'm saying this with kindness, not as an attack. I simply don't think attacking unrelated people with addiction issues is the answer. The attacks could very well be directed toward you instead, and I don't think you would appreciate it any more than the rest of us would.

Why not redirect that negative energy into another post where you can build someone up instead of tearing them down?

I’m having sleeve surgery next month it’s mad expensive I’m doing self pay. I feel for her because addiction is real. Reason why she needs psychiatrist and proper prescription meds that won’t affect her sleeve. I see many people like me are on Wellbutrin.

If the OPs intent was to find out about drugs affecting the sleeve, I would say the two biggest to worry about would be weed and alcohol. Once your stomach is reduced in size, I have heard the alcohol hits you way faster and way harder. Weed would of course make you get the munchies which could lead to overeating and making yourself sick or stretching your sleeve. I can’t see any other drugs really causing a problem. Then again, anything you have to swallow could be a problem benzodiazepines and opiodes things of that nature.
Here’s an idea, don’t do drugs and you will be fine.
If you drink, limit it to 1 or 2 drinks and stop.
There, I have solved this problem for everyone.

The puritanical streak in the US is considerably wider and more opinionated than in the UK. There are a lot of posts around this forum about how people's social lives have changed now they can't drink much and it's changed the way they experience the bar, so maybe look up some of those to find fellow travelers?

I really appreciate the people attempting to answer this honestly and not jumping down this persons throat. The reason we have these forums are for questions some people might find uncomfortable. Shame on those people acting all offended... this is a SUPPORT center

Coke is like this, you will feel fantastic for like an hour and then you have to do more, I was starting to use coke in addition to my drinking when I finally hit bottom and got sober.
I am an alcoholic to the core, so I simply have to abstain from drinking. Having said that, I am an addict too and cannot use any form of drug or I will abuse it even something as simple as Benadryl. I will abuse anything that makes me feel good, hence my food addiction. I am a food addict and that is what led me to getting up to 440 pounds. Food was the only thing I had left to abuse. I was 9 years sober when I got sleeved and 3 months after getting sleeved I relapsed and almost died. Like literally almost died, my wife had to call 911 and I had to be taken to the ER. Why did this happen? I didn’t protect my sobriety and once I couldn’t abuse food anymore my alcoholism and drug addiction came back with a vengeance. I am sober today by the grace of God and very fortunate I did not die the night I relapsed.

Cocaine is not a one time thing, its highly addictive.

Cocaine damages many other organs in the body. It reduces blood flow in the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to tears and ulcerations.

What I don't get (yes, I get addiction), but what I don't get with the last poster is to wonder, why are you doing this? Meaning, why on earth go through the pain and discomfort and inconvenience and the 6 months of angst or the year or however long it is getting ready for this surgery to do something so crazy town as putting coke into a healing body. That will never be a "one time thing." Why? Cuz someone like that is in humongous denial about their present situation in life.

Why did you have this surgery? That's what you need to find. Find your why and ask yourself if doing coke at any time is going to help you succeed or reach your goal.

I had this surgery to give myself a new chance at life. I did not have it just to continue to make poor choices that can injure me or worse, enslave me. I'm not looking to transfer my food addiction. I'd rather just work recovery.
