Bc when you get liposuction it’s not from inside your abdomen. The fat inside there has a lot of vessels. When they Lipo they are doing subcutaneous...they do not Lipo inside the abdomen.

Thanks! I'm one of those people who was interested in every science except biology!

Congratulations! What a great feeling! It’s been really wonderful to go “closet shopping” over the last few months! I finally had to go on a big shopping trip a week or so ago because I’d finally run out of things that weren’t too big for me!

I hope you’re able to replace some of what you’ve given away with things that fit - it makes SUCH a huge difference to have clothes the right size. Especially bras - I didn’t replace my bras (which were old and not fitting great in the first place) until a week or two ago and I got a fitting and got a few great bras that were the right band and cup size and WOW what a difference! I’d lost 80 lbs so it was definitely time to get a few new ones!

Thanks, yes I bought some new items. I have a prosthetic bra and it is definitely too big and I’m looking lopsided! I’m waiting to lose 5 more pounds before I get refitted. I am not big chested so it’s noticeable if I don’t wear the right top.

Ok, for the trifecta today... :)

Are you struggling with cravings? Do you want to get back on track and quit eating sweets at night or quit drinking that wine? I just saw this and thought it was so cool! I might have to get some to try!

Had my 6 month checkup today. Yay, I'm a sophomore! Weight loss has slowed down. I knew this would happen, I'm not going to stress. I'm going to amp up my exercise more. I want to start running. My surgeon and nutritionist were pleased with my progress. I hope to reach goal in the next few months.

Sigh...

Ive been thinking... I may give up yogurt for a bit 😳

Not sure when I'll start but likely in 2 weeks

It's my ultimate slider at this point. I know it is because i cam feel it go straight through me but it has so much Protein i was willing to ignore it. 😂

But once again becoming stricter with my diet i see now that i only truly feel restriction with dense foods.

What's on everyone else's ultimate slider list?

Ok, before you go completely ferral, try mixing 2oz of Greek yogurt with 2oz of cottage cheese, matcha, and your toppings (including walnuts or almonds) to make it fit your macros. See if it makes it more filling. Cottage cheese totally fills me where yogurt slides. :)

I'll be back in a bit to post my slider ultimates. :(

Me... Ferral ?!?!? Never. Sometimes. Hourly.

LOL

I like cottage cheese but its on the same list. I eat it rarely because its more processed (more ingredients) than plain greek. I'm filled by yogurt but it move through very quickly lol i swear i can hear it 😳

Then I'm hungry 1 hr later... Nah. Gotta do better than this 😂😂😂 especially when that damn salad had me stuffed forever and i bare ate any of it. The damn dense Proteins. Who would have known ?!?! JK ... Everyone.

I'm going to try eating salad for 1st meals and see how long until hunger kicks in vs. yogurt.

I feel like yogurt is filling. I add raspberries and blackberries to mine too. Stays w me until lunchtime. But I’m also 7 mos post op so maybe that won’t be the case the further out I get.

It may not be that way at all in your case!

For me yogurt is hit or miss. There are some days it feels filing and other days I’m hungry again so soon after! I like the idea of being thoughtful about the density of my first meal - I’ve been having trouble staying reasonable with my first IF meal because by that point I’m really hungry so it ends up taking more food to feel full. I might try out some denser Protein and veggies vs. yogurt and the other stuff I’ve been starting with! Thanks for suggesting it!

Also, as of this morning I’m at 200.8! Onederland is closer than ever! Today’s weight doesn’t count because I only count my Monday weigh ins, but still!

As I’ve mentioned before I’ve been hovering 203-207 since 2/1 (lowest in that two month period was 202.6 on 2/12, otherwise it’s been bouncing between 203.5-206.8) and after starting IF and being strict about tracking my calories I’ve lost 5.8 lbs since Monday. My period also started and I generally hold onto more weight the week or so before and then release it, so I’m guessing that combined with diet changes this week have made a difference!

Like I said it doesn’t COUNT yet and I shouldn’t have even weighed myself yet, but I’m so excited that I’m closer than I’ve ever been! I haven’t been under 200lbs since I was 12/13 years old!!!!!

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I get to have a onederland celebration soon???

I add about 1/4 cup Kashi go lean to my yogurt, kind of like granola. It makes it more filling, plus adds Protein and Fiber.

From the slider queen: yogurt, fruit, Soups, stews, chicken salad, tuna salad, crackers, most veggies, and my personal fave: sugar-free fudgesicles. Did I miss anything?

Also, I'm very fortunate at this point. I have wicked cravings, but no true hunger.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
